THE SOCIAL CLUB

Hello! We are Erica Smith and Dana Scott. After being friends for years, we have been fortunate enough to take this next step in our careers together!  The Social Club is a creative space where a shop and salon come together as one.  We were inspired by a clean, modern aesthetic with touches of comfort and quirk.  Both of us love all aspects of design and thoughtfully crafted every detail of our home away from home.  The salon meets all of your hair needs: cutting, coloring, and styling providing a cool, comfortable, indulgent, and enjoyable atmosphere for each beauty experience. The shop is a beautiful collection of treasures, new and old, to inspire everyday life.  With the love and support of our friends and family, we have been able to open a place that we can truly call our own.  We love this town and love being a part of Downtown Norman!

DANA SCOTT

I was born in Michigan, raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a degree in Public Relations. While in college I began my entrepreneurial journey by hosting sales of vintage wares and clothing out of my home and making jewelry for family and friends as gifts. After graduation, I decided to pursue jewelry making and event design, doing these things on the side in addition to a full-time job for 3 years before deciding to take the leap and pursue them full time. At the end of 2011, Erica Smith and I began dreaming about having a space together. One that Erica could do hair out of and that I could use as a studio and office. The space we found had a store front so I decided to invest in a little retail, a dream I had always had but one that I didn't think would be able to be a reality for years. We opened The Social Club in a 500 square foot space in January of 2012, expanded into the space next door the summer of 2012, and then moved altogether into a 2600 square foot space the summer of 2013. In 2016, I decided to go to hair school so I could also work as a stylist in the salon. In 2017, I had J Sutton, my sweet red headed curly haired boy who brings me and my husband endless amounts of much joy and laughter. I still make most of the jewelry that is sold at the shop and I love more than anything scouting new inventory from talented makers and hunting for vintage, one-of-a-kind pieces to fill the shelves. The retail side of the business was something I never expected taking off like it did but I couldn't be happier with what it has evolved in to.  We not only have a physical brick and mortar, and an online store but we also have our own brand of items that we design and make including glassware, candles, prints, calendars, and of course jewelry.  Between the shop, working as a stylist, and being a mom, I stay pretty busy but I count my blessing everyday because I know it's not everyday that you get to genuinely do so many different things that you love. 

ERICA SMITH

I live here in Norman with my sweet boys, my amazing and supportive husband, Brady and our beautiful son Sullivan (Sully). I feel so very lucky to have them both. I'm a proud Oklahoma native and have been in the art of hair design since 2006. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a political science degree in 2006, I became acutely aware that I needed something different. Something that fueled my passions and could bring together my love for creativity and my love for people. So I decided to enroll at Duncan Brothers School of Hair Design. After graduating in 2008, I worked at Lollie's Beauty Bar in Norman where I learned from the best and brightest stylists in Oklahoma. After fours years of hard work, teamwork and education, I decided it was time to venture

out on my own. My good friend Dana Scott and I dreamed of a place where both of our passions could thrive together, full of creative ideas and creative people with talented stylists and artists. We started as a one chair shop and boutique in January 2012, and have expanded to a eight-chair salon full of creativity, passion and talent. I feel so very fortunate to be a part of this community. I truly want each and every client to feel beautiful. I love being able to connect with each customer and feel honored to be a part of people's lives. I love creating natural looks with an effortlessly cool feel. I love what I do and I feel very grateful for this journey. I am passionate about elevating the hair industry in Oklahoma and truly changing the perception of hair to be the respected art form that I believe it is.
